Struck Me Like Lightening

Gloves, pullovers, and clovers are all words that mean absolutely nothing to us. They all include the most important four letters that only when they are put together, without anything else, enclose the power to make and break you. Love. What is love? What is this crazy feeling that overwhelms us, makes our stomachs flip, and can cause the biggest heartache.

We love to sing it off our rooftops, proclaim it to the world that we’ve accomplished the impossible. At times life likes to knock you down, tell you you’re wrong, and laugh in your face. The struggle is having the strength to get up and keep searching for that one chance, moment, or second when you find love. I can’t understand how living in a city such as Los Angeles we can find it. It seems like it is simply impossible. There are no stars to gaze and wish upon for love to arrive.

There always seems to be an absence of romance. In this city full of people who battle to be the prettiest, how do you catch someone’s eye without speaking? We already live in a world full of lust so how do we clear through the haziness and find the clear direction to love?

Salvador Dali

Here are two of my favorite and most influential people. I stumbled upon this picture of Salvador Dali with Chanel today. I had no idea they were friends but have always admired Salvador Dali's art more than any other artist's.

He is my overall favorite painter because his artwork isn't just measured by his brush strokes, but by the way he conveys his perception of the world in his art. Every time I go to a museum I can't help but search through fliers with the hope of finding one of his artworks. I have traveled through 4 countries and have not found the pleasure of coming across one.

If I ever find myself in Florida, it is the first place you can find me, the Salvador Dali Museum. :)

What Completes Me...

Music is my one true love. A relationship that can not be damaged or destroyed. To me music influences everything you do and creates you into the person you are. It is your own personal identity. It's more meaningful than the imprint on your thumb. I feel that music is something that flows through your mind and soul and we each have a separate mixture of songs that electrify our being.



Why else would we ask other people what type of music we listen to? Music creates a connection with other people because of the same feelings we share. We all seem to associate and group ourselves with people who share the same interest in music. Not only that but in order to identify people with the same music taste; They have to dress the part. Hardcore with skinny jeans, rap music with baggy clothes, and country with cowboy boots.



Music makes us unique in every single way. This must be the reason that I find the radio as a thief. It likes to steal the beats and rhythm of my personality for everyone to listen. It ruins the song being special to me when I know that way more than a small amount are listening to the same song. Of course there are some artists that will never be over played to me.



A day without music for me is like a day without breathing. Music has always been in my life since a young age from playing piano, flute, and a small amount of guitar (learning). By laying in bed listening to a song I easily get the urge to play it, follow the rhythm, and picture the notes in my head. My mind and heart have an everlasting connection with music.

I can't get a tune out of my head.
I can't stop loving it.

Beautiful California Day!

The sun is out with a small cool breeze. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. I went for a run in Santa Monica and the weather couldn't have been better but my right shin definitely could have.....shin splits. I couldn't hate anything more.

So, after my run I went and searched through a thrift store for some vintage goods, grabbed lunch, and jammed out to Phoenix with the warm sun on my cheeks.

I definitely am in a need of decorating my apartment some more. I want it all to be cute, colorful, and with a vintage feel to it. I'm going to have to search through the flea market for awesome cheap furniture and decor to replace mine! :)

Ever have one of those days where all you seem to be able to do is lay in bed, read, and listen to music?

Disguise Yourself

Is it true that for each person we are with we wear a different mask? Even though we love to be individuals we sometimes tend to change or forget who we are. Is the saying "Be Yourself" all talk?

You can't truly be yourself with anyone but family, best friends, and yourself. When I say best friends I mean those few friends you can trust and count all in one hand. Why you may ask?

We tweak ourselves a bit with each person we talk to in order to understand, relate, and just get along with each other.

Just don't loose yourself in that mask and change yourself completely.

John Mayer knows how to get under my skin and somehow creates a multitude of butterflies to form in my stomach. I absolutely love his lyrics, humor, and photography. Did you guys know he does photography?

It has been said that he is shutting down his twitter account and I'm definitely okay with that as long as he keeps his tumbler account. It is his own personal blog and I'm finding out so much more about him...and I thought I couldn't love him more. Check it out!!
